The Rock Island, IL subseries, 1893, 1905-1930 and undated, focuses primarily on the history of Rock Island. Included are reproductions of maps from various time periods, as well as images of significant sites--Black Hawk's village, the Sauk Council Lodge, Native American corn hills and some early settlers' residences. Also included are images of Vandruff's Island and Augustana College, among other locations.

The Black Hawk State Park subseries, 1908-1928 and undated, consists of images of the park, Black Hawk's Watch Tower and the Watch Tower Inn. There are several images of the excavation of a Native American gravesite.

The Black Hawk Hiking Club series, 1920-1939 and undated, consists of images of various hike activities, such as cooking over a campfire and making camp, and images of various locations from local and Big Hikes. Most notable are an image of the club's very first hike and its Big Hikes to the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Colorado and Mexico. Also included are several images depicting lyrics to the club's songs.

The Milan, IL subseries, 1914-1927 and undated, bulk 1914-1915, includes images of Big Island, Hennepin Canal, and other Milan landscapes. Also included are some images of an Old Settlers' Picnic at Sylvester W. Sutton's farm.

The Groups subseries, 1880-1928 and undated, consists of group portraits of various members of the Hauberg family. Most prominent are Hauberg's siblings (Amelia, Emma, Anna, Rosena, Louis, Elnora and Ada) and their families. There are also several family portraits from Marx Detlev Hauberg's 80th birthday and his wife, Anna's golden wedding anniversary. This subseries also includes some images from Hauberg Reunions.
